Vinted Shoppers Share Displeasure Regarding Sizing Modifications
Shoppers are voicing their frustration after an update resulted in listings displaying inaccurate size information.
The second-hand shopping app has revised its sizing categories for women's and children's clothes failing to inform all shoppers about the modification.
Online Platforms Backlash
Numerous buyers and vendors are expressing on platforms saying Vinted listings now show a different size category than originally posted due to the recalibration.
The platform stated the revised method more closely matches comparable marketplaces.
The platform has recommended to review their products and adjust the sizing manually if necessary, which has left users frustrated.
Size Classification Updates
Before the change, the sizing featured a single numeric size and a letter, like S/8 or M/10.
The updated approach includes a letter with a size spectrum like S/UK 8-10.
In some cases, the size labels have been reassigned - such as a large size was previously a 12 but currently displays as UK 16-18.
Shopper Experiences
Frankie Bridger, who produces content about larger sizing, stated the update "complicates both purchasing and selling".
"Few clothing companies classify XL as 20-22," as the platform currently indicates.
A different member, based in Glasgow, stated items she posted with size 14 tags were displaying on the service as size 20–22.
"Should someone sized 20-22 purchase these they will likely be quite upset," she stated.
Manual Updates
Another shopper, from Derby, stated she felt frustrated because the modification necessitated personal updates the sizing for "all her products".
"Personally, this is quite irritating, since I have chronic health issues and selling on Vinted has been paramount after experiencing income reduction," she stated.
Service Background
The platform boasts over 100 million shoppers, including 18 million in the UK.
It has emerged as a preferred choice compared to resale services such as eBay and Depop.
This isn't the first time that an unexpected update within the service has received backlash: last year, Vinted reversed a change regarding delivery choices after backlash from users.
